TWEEN DREAM: Pink and natural tones by Three Little Poppies

When I saw this room pop up in my Facebook feed I couldn’t help but message the poster to ask her if I could share these amazing tween bedroom ideas and images with our audience (lucky for us, she said yes!).

Hayley Herbig, co-founder of Crowns & Confetti, an event styling company in South Australia, chats with us about this beautiful room belonging to her 11 year old daughter, Sienna.

Tween Bedroom Ideas - Little Girls Room

Was there a certain “look” or theme you were going for?

I love the natural, boho theme and wanted something girly and age appropriate without being too babyish that I would have to redo in a few years time.

Was your daughter part of the decision making or did you surprise her with the makeover?

Sienna was much apart of the process. We have been on the new build journey for around two years so have been collecting pieces over that time. The ideas of her room definitely evolved over that time as she got older.

What’s your favourite thing about the room?

I love the mix of old and new. The wall panels are my favourite feature. I’m so happy with the colour we chose and the way it gives the room some character.

Where is your favourite place to shop for kid’s interiors?

A lot of her room came from the amazing Dutch Warehouse. I also love Leo and Bella, Jack and Willow and can’t go past Adairs for bed linen.

Where is your favourite place to shop for homewares in general?

Norsu Interiors is my go to! I also love stalking Gumtree and the buy swap and sell pages for those vintage pieces. I love turning someone’s trash into our treasures.

What piece in the room was your best bargain?

The vintage armoire was a giveaway on Gumtree. It was pretty shabby when I picked it up but a coat of chalk paint and it came up beautifully. I also scored her cane magazine rack from the salvation army for $4.

What item was your biggest splurge?

The beautiful Numero 74 bed drape! But was soooooo worth it!

Are there any items on your wish list?

Yes! The next big purchase will be a Byron Bay Hanging Chair for the room. Flower wall decals from Minnie & Me interiors and also some Love Warriors prints from Norsu Interiors.

Is there anything more you want to do to the room?

I’m still on the hunt for another floor rug as I want to use this one elsewhere. Otherwise just a few more little décor bits and pieces to finish it off. The hanging chair and a few cushions but I’m sure it will continue to evolve! There are so many tween bedroom ideas out there, I love to change and continuously rearrange!

  1. I’d love to know the paint colours on the walls as well! Currently re-doing my daughter’s room and would love to create a similar space!!
